When did Tequila get so expensive? Was I drunk? The whole time you say? Was it before or after the Mexican government made it illegal to call something additive free on the bottle? Tequila has had a revolution and yet it’s evolution is stuck. Times have changed, but not as much as we would hope. Can you get actual Tequila in the US these days (from agave, not glycerine and neutral grain spirit)? Yes. Additive free, high quality, amazingness has become more widely available. Are the quality distillers unable to label it as such? Correct. They can say nothing about it on the bottle. And is this delightfully vaguely labeled beverage going to cost you an arm and a leg?
