Springboard Wine Company is very proud to represent Massican Winery statewide. Massican is the brainchild of Daniel Petroski, whose day job is as winemaker at Larkmead in the heart of Napa Valley. Larkmead is well known for its Bordeaux varietal based wines, but that is not the fork in the road that Dan has taken with his own Massican brand. He is taking the decidedly less travelled route to white varietals of Friuli in Northern Italy. Of course you’ll notice immediately that he is doing both Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, which are not necessarily native Friulian varietals, but his inspiration is decidedly from cutting edge producers such as Jermann, Borgo del Tiglio, Ronco del Gnemez and Venica & Venica. The wines are racy, sexy, and loaded with verve. They express their varietal and terroir in a most exciting manner. Additionally, Dan has crafted a small amount of a most amazing Vermouth. If you are the fan of the Martini and Negroni that we are, it’s not to be missed.
