The estate is dramatic and historic, releasing their first wine in 1991. 32 years later, Steve Pride and his team at the winery remain as inspiringly humble as they are dedicated to their mission: to make the very best wines they can; unique to their Napa/Sonoma mountain top. Straddling both appellations, you can actually step over the county line on the crush pad, and the growing conditions are truly specific to that singular place. The only problem with Pride, if I must complain for a second, is that availability is scarce. There just isn’t enough wine to go around. So, if and when they they do make an appearance, get on board! Because as my mother used to say, you snooze you lose.
