Sostener is a collaborative project between two Monterey grower/vintners—Steve McIntyre of McIntyre Vineyards, and Michael Thomas of Wrath Wines. They both generally have their hands fairly full with their own wineries, but had an itch to fill a void in the world of Pinot Noir that they could not ignore. Sostener is dedicated to producing affordable, premium-quality Pinot Noir from the famed Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. Meaning “to sustain” in Spanish, the name Sostener is more than skin deep. From the approachable price tag to the eco-friendly packaging, they are SIP Certified and ready to party.
